Etiquette Dining Event
Earlier this week, Kris McGuigan spoke to students on how to stand out in the workplace and gave tips on how to create a lasting first impression. Kris is a successful business owner and mentor for the Hiram Mentorship Program. To learn more about her, you can click here to read her spotlight.
The etiquette dinning event also awarded 15 suit scholarships worth $150 for students to shop for professional attire. Additional giveaways included a campfire mug with marshmallows and a dessert box filled with cheesecake, cookies, and chocolate covered pretzels. Events like the etiquette dinning are great opportunities for students to learn something new and work on networking and is highly recommended for inspiring entrepreneurs to participate.
Student Spotlight - Jordan Mallernee
Jordan is currently a junior at Hiram College and set to graduate in 2023. He is majoring in Marketing and minoring in Entrepreneurship. He is a member of the High Performance Program and plays as an outfielder for the Hiram baseball team.
He has not yet completed an internship; however, he ran a clothing company with three classmates during a semester at school. Social media was Jordan's best tool for advertising the clothes. The company earned a good amount of profit and thought Jordan real world business applications that can easily be applied in the workforce.
Jordan has been enjoying the entrepreneurship courses and recommends other students to get involved because entrepreneurship is a skill that is important to many employers.
