Current Events

On November 9th, from 6-7pm in the Forum room of East Hall, the Entrepreneurship Speaker Series will feature guest speaker, Bethanie Jones. Bethanie is a Human Resources executive and start-up business consultant. She will be delivering a speech that focuses on how to deal with adversity and information on how to survive in the current corporate climate. We highly encourage all Hiram entrepreneurship students to take advantage of this opportunity to learn from a very successful individual.

Student Spotlight - Allen Stevens

Allen Stevens is a Business Management student from Bedford, Ohio. Over the summer, Allen worked for First Day School Supplies. He worked with a team to fulfill work orders and learned many valuable lessons during his time there. For example, Allen believes that team work is vital and that a good team can enhance productivity and moral. He also learned that working in a factory can be hard, especially due to the long shifts. The experience motivated Allen to find a career outside of a factory environment once he graduates in December of 2021.

Mentor Spotlight - Luke DeCesare

Luke is a Hiram alumni who graduated in 2003 with a Computer Science degree. Immediately after graduation, Luke started working at Penske as a sales and management trainee. Since then, Luke has worked in twelve different positions, each requiring different responsibilities and skills. He currently is the Area Vice President for the Great Lakes area. However, his favorite position at Penske was District Rental Management because it allowed him to work with college recruiting and mold new hires into professionals.

Luke believes young entrepreneurs need to develop the philosophy of "win or learn" because entrepreneurs will face adversity but if you can learn from mistakes, you will become successful in life.
