Urgent Challenges, Final Exams, & Thanksgiving

Current Events

Recently, the 306 Entrepreneurship class presented their findings in class. The purpose of the class is for students to find a solution to urgent challenges that businesses currently face. This year, the class was split into three groups. The first group was an internal project that worked with Hiram College on ways to retain and recruit students. The second group was also an internal project and worked with Hiram College on ways to better improve diversity, equality, and inclusion around campus. The final group worked with an entrepreneur who created a sling groove that helps train golfers. Overall, students got to experience urgent challenges and find solutions in a real world setting.

Additionally, the Entrepreneurship fall three-week will be starting soon. The course allows 10-12 students to work with entrepreneurs on projects at the LaunchHouse. During the course, students will work with entrepreneurs from start up companies to help improve their business!

Hiram students are entering finals week, which can be a stressful time of the year. To help, we asked successful entrepreneurship students what they do to prepare for their finals and how they control their stress. In the spirit of Thanksgiving, they also shared what they are thankful for. We wish the best of luck to everyone taking final exams and hope you have a happy Thanksgiving break!

Jaret Barclay

Jaret handles his stress by going to the gym and taking long walks at night. To prepare for finals, he studies and makes flashcards on Quizlet. He is thankful for family, friends, and the knowledge he's developed through Hiram College because it allows him to run his own business.

Ben Zuniga

Ben handles his stress by playing sports and being around his friends. To prepare for finals, he looks over his notes and course material. He is thankful for the memories he has developed during his time at Hiram College.

Shelby Edwards

Shelby handles his stress by working out and watching TV with his friends. To prepare for finals, he scans his notes and goes through the chapter slides in Moodle. He is thankful for the opportunity of a full time job thanks to the internship he completed over the summer.
