Mentor Spotlight - Jeff Bradish

Jeff is a successful entrepreneur and business owner who is a current member of the Entrepreneurship Mentor Program. Jeff graduated from John Carrol University in 2010 with a Business Management degree. After graduation, he managed a print shop in Tampa for two years but eventually had to close the shop. After the print shop, Jeff worked at Main Sail as a sales rep for IT logistics and managerial consulting. Three years later, Jeff began selling medical equipment for Ottoback for the Ohio, New York, Pennsylvania, and West Virginia locations. 

Jeff decided it was time for him to run his own business and in 2018 he opened a daycare for dogs called PawsCle. His business was off to a quick start but ran into staffing issues once Covid-19 hit. He had to operate at 30% capacity and lay off his employees for a short amount of time. Jeff put his business in "survival" mode and thankfully made it through the difficult times and is now back to full capacity. 

Jeff advises inspiring entrepreneurs to not be afraid of doing something and to not to be afraid of failing. He believes that you can plan as much as possible but nothing will happen until you just go and do it. Learn as you go and be okay with making mistakes.

Student Spotlight - David Angarita David is a sophomore from Eustis, Florida and set to graduate in the spring of 2024 with a major in Biomedical Humanities and a minor in Entrepreneurship. He is currently a member of the football team and works in the athletic training center.  David decided to pick up the entrepreneurship minor because he felt that it would work well with his desired career in dentistry.  In the summer, David will be working as an intern at a dental practice in his home town of Eustis. After graduation, David will attend dental school and  plans to eventually open and run his own dentistry practice. Camdyn Miller & LaunchHouse

  Camdyn Miller Camdyn is an Accounting and Entrepreneurship student at Hiram College. She is also a member of the Ohio Society of CPAs and plans to obtain her CPA license after graduation. As a member of the Ohio Society of CPAs, Camdyn spreads awareness about accounting. On the 2nd of December, she presented at the monthly Scarborough School of Business and Communication meeting. She explained that the accounting field is growing and is estimated to have 140,000 new jobs available by 2024. Additionally, she mentioned that accountants are needed in many different fields and has a starting salary of $40-$79,000 depending on the company and market.  Camdyn Miller Three-Week at LaunchHouse This week was the first week for the LaunchHouse 3-week course. Speaker Series, Shelby Edwards & Kris McGuigan

  Current Events  Earlier this week, the Scarborough School Alumni Networking Night took place. Students were able to network with alumni and get a better understanding of different careers paths available for them after graduation.  Additionally, the Speaker Series starts next week on Thursday, October 7th from 6-7:30pm. The featured speaker is a Hiram alumni and entrepreneur, Carlton Dean III. Carlton has had great success in his careers of both basketball and business.
