Speaker Series, Shelby Edwards & Kris McGuigan

  Current Events  Earlier this week, the Scarborough School Alumni Networking Night took place. Students were able to network with alumni and get a better understanding of different careers paths available for them after graduation.  Additionally, the Speaker Series starts next week on Thursday, October 7th from 6-7:30pm. The event is for the campus community only; however, if you want to join via Zoom, please email David Strukel at strukeldm@hiram.edu. The featured speaker is a Hiram alumni and entrepreneur, Carlton Dean III. Carlton has had great success in his careers of both basketball and business. Mentor Night, Kaitlyn Pongracz & Phil Fogatry

  Current Events  Earlier this week, the Hiram College Mentorship Program had their third annual meeting on Zoom. The program is designed for students to be matched with successful entrepreneurs where the students can develop a working relationship and learn from their mentor.  Additionally, the  Entrepreneurship Education Consortium (ECC) has an upcoming event on October 22nd from 4:30-6:30pm at SmartShape Design . This is a great opportunity for any entrepreneurship student to network and meet people who are working on entrepreneurial projects. Study Away, Matt Valentin, & Griff Allen

  Current Events  Hiram College students minoring in Entrepreneurship have the opportunity for a Study Away trip! The trip will take place during the 3-week time period in spring of 2022. During the first half of the trip, students will travel to Cleveland, Youngstown, and Akron and explore the entrepreneurial ecosystem including JumpStart, Youngstown Business Incubator, Bounce Innovation Hub, Rock N Roll Hall of Fame, and the Burton D. Morgan Foundation. The second half, students will travel to Charlotte, NC to explore First Flight Venture, The Launch Factory, Cary Innovation Center, and HQ Raleigh Lithios.  Seating for the trip is limited. HPP, Ben Zuniga, & Scott Altman

  Current Events  Last week, Dave Kukurza kicked off the High Performance Program (HPP) for select Hiram College students minoring in Entrepreneurship. The program consists of highly motivated students who wish to develop strong communication and leadership skills. Each student in the High Performance Program will be matched with a mentor, allowing the student to learn from an established and successful entrepreneur. Students in the HPP will also become a member of Toastmasters, a professional group focused on improving public speaking and communication.  Student Spotlight - Ben Zuniga Ben Zuniga is this week's student spotlight! Side Hustle, Jaret Barclay, & Jim Kurtz

Current Events  Hiram College is one of eleven members for the  Entrepreneurship Education Consortium  (EEC). The EEC has a Side Hustle program where students can win grants and prizes for their business idea! The program also helps students launch their business with the help of mentors and coaches. The program ends in November of 2021 and is open to the first 60 students. If interested in the program, make sure to  register today ! Student Spotlight - Jaret Barclay  Jaret Barclay is a Business Marketing and Entrepreneurship student at Hiram College and will be graduating in the fall of 2022. He is a Resident Assistant and apart of many clubs on campus including the Entrepreneurship Club. Despite his demanding schedule, Jaret launched his Kombucha SuperAde business  in March of 2020.
